In general, ALL Talk Groups can be used on either slot via a Repeater.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Most Talk Groups will be User Activated (UA) by calling the Talk Group from your radio. The Talk Group will remain open for 10mins from your last PTT.<br \/>\nThe Repeater Keeper might wish you to use one Slot for the UK and the other Slot for outside off the UK.<br \/>\nSee No 2 and 3 below<\/p>\n<p><b>2. <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedmr.uk\/dash2\/statictg.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This links shows you what is set as Static on each repeater<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Having a Regional Talk Group set as static is becoming common, as it links a group of Repeaters together into one large community of repeaters.<\/p>\n<p>Static Talk Groups never Time Out. Unlike User Activated as outlined below (No 3).<br \/>\nThis means they can pass Traffic at any time without needing to call the Talk Group from your radio.<br \/>\nJust go to that Channel for the Static Talk Group in your radio and you will RX any traffic.<\/p>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> User Activated (UA).<br \/>\nUser Activated Talk Groups will automatically time out after *10\/15 mins if you do not retransmit to it again.<br \/>\n*Time out timer length is set by the repeater keeper.<\/p>\n<p><b>4.<\/b> 4000 Disconnect\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedmr.uk\/index.php\/4000-unlink\/\">Unlink<\/a> from a Talk Group.<br \/>\nNot required on FreeDMR. Just call the next Talk Group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> 9990 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedmr.uk\/index.php\/echo\/\">Echo\/Parrot<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Visiting or Travelling around the UK<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b>Talk Groups \u2013 2350 UK Call, 2351 Chat 1, 2352 Chat 2, 2353 Chat 3 <\/b><\/p>\n<p>With general approval from Repeater Keepers. You can use <b>SLOT 2<\/b> for the above 5 Talk Groups if Visiting or Travelling around the UK.<br \/>\nThis is to make programming your radio easy for each repeater you might use.<br \/>\n<b> You should have all 4 Talk Groups programmed in to your Radio so you can QSY to one of the three Chat Talk Groups.<\/b><br \/>\n<i>Ideally, it would be worthwhile programming the 4 Talk Groups on both Slots. This lets you use the other slot if one is in use.<\/i><br \/>\nMost Talk Groups is User Activated Talk Groups will automatically time out after *10\/15 mins if you do not retransmit to it again.<br \/>\n*Time out timer length is set by the repeater keeper.<\/p>\n<p><b>If you\u2019re going to be in one area for some time or frequently you should \u2013<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Do a Google Search and see if the Repeater has a Website or Facebook Group with info on how to use.<br \/>\n<b>2.<\/b> You will need to see what Static Talks Groups they have set.<br \/>\n<a id=\"TGName\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/server.freedmr.uk\/tools\/repeaters-status-1.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This links shows you what is set as Static on each repeater<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Having a Regional Talk Group sets as static is becoming common, as it links a group of Repeaters together into one large community of repeaters.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"><a href=\"#Top\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Back to Top<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Talk Group Allocation &amp; Naming<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedmr.uk\/index.php\/talkgroups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Talk Group<\/a> Allocation and Naming is solely down to the Admin of FreeDMR UK Network.<\/li>\n<li>In conjunction with Repeater Keepers naming is worked out.<\/li>\n<li>Only the Admin of FreeDMR United Kingdom Network can name or change a name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Every 5 Dig Region Talk Group has 9 Sub Talk Groups.(235\u00d70, 235\u00d71 to 235\u00d79)<br \/>\nAlso 23490 East Anglia.<\/li>\n<li>Some might have been allocated and named.<br \/>\n(<i>examples 23557 \u2013 Scotland East, 23558 \u2013 Scotland H &amp; I<\/i>)<\/li>\n<li>If any of the 9 Sub Talk Groups have not been named you can freely use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>They will not be added to the official Talk Groups for the UK. It is down to you to advertise the talk group and invite ones to use it.<br \/>\nNo one can claim ownership of the unnamed\/unallocated Sub 9 Talk Groups and must be shared by all who wish to use them.<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a id=\"Club\"><\/a>Request a Talk Group Allocated. To Bridge HBLink Server and FreeDMR. The use of OpenBridge &#8220;OPB&#8221; is the proper way to link to talk groups between the two systems.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will also need to make sure you have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedmr.uk\/index.php\/loop-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Loop Control<\/a> is place.<br \/>\n<i>If a Talk Group on FreeDMR is bridged to xzy talk group, a second Talk Group can not be bridged to it also. Doing so would cause looping on the network.<br \/>\n<\/i><\/li>\n<li>Bridging any FreeDMR UK Talk Groups to another network without permission.<\/li>\n<li>Bridging via a Repeater\/Gateway\/Hotspots from any FreeDMR UK Talk Groups to another network without permission.<\/li>\n<li>Misuse of your bridge. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedmr.uk\/index.php\/information\/#Term\"><i>See Terms &amp; Conditions<\/i><\/a><\/li>\n<li>An agreed bridged talk group, can not be bridged to another non-agreed talk group or network.<\/li>\n<li>Bridging to multi networks, requires FreeDMR UK and all networks\/parties to agree. <em>Please supply confirmation and contact information when you request a bridge.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\nFreeDMR UK reserves the Right to Limit or Revoke your bridge to the Service\/Network.
